A quiet day for us at sea today. On the whole, the ship is quiet too. After yesterday's exploration of São Miguel, there was a buzz of excitement on board Britannia and this resulted in some late night partying as the ship left Ponta Delgada. Although still warm, the weather is cloudy and we passed through several small rain showers as we made our way south and east towards Madeira.
We dined in the Horizon buffet restaurant again and this evening, the theme was Mediterranean food which suited us nicely - the moussaka was extremely good!
Tomorrow, we arrive in Funchal which is the capital of Madeira. Having holidayed in Madeira a few times previously, we have no excursions booked and will go ashore independently. Unusually, the ship will stay overnight in Funchal allowing passengers a full day and night in the city, with the chance to dine ashore if they choose.
